Li Ru (李儒) is a staff member of He Dong Institute and Dong Zhuo's son-in-law. He was sent to Dong Han Academy to cause trouble by shielding the school with the Eight Doors Golden Lock Formation. After that failed, he joined Huang Jin High School and kidnapped Diao Chan in order to obtain Dong Han Academy by using her as leverage.
Later, he reappears as Dong Zhuo's underling as they take over Dong Han Academy.
After Principal Wang returns, he retreats to He Dong, only to later follow Dong Zhuo into the school union's palace and take over the imperial court.
He is almost never seen without his partner, Mei Niang.
After Dong Zhuo's reign was lost, he was taken into custody by Yuan Shao.

Origin[]
Lǐ Rú was an advisor during the late Eastern Han Dynasty and Three Kingdoms era of China. He was the son-in-law of the warlord, Dong Zhuo. He served as an advisor to his father-in-law on various campaigns against Ma Teng, the Ten Attendants, and later his attempts to keep Emperor Xian under his little finger. When Dong Zhuo was sent to the capital to deal with the Ten Attendants, Lǐ Rú advised him to replace the current Emperor Shao with his younger brother Xian.[1]
